Murder charge added in death of Anchorage taxi driver
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A murder charge has been added to manslaughter and drunken driving charges in a fatal crash in January that killed an Anchorage cab driver.
Prosecutors said they have also charged 39-year-old Lawrence Brewer with second-degree murder in the Jan. 30 death of 55-year-old Dale Allen Pokarney.
Police said Brewer had a blood-alcohol level of more than 0.2 percent, or more than twice the legal limit, when his car hit a taxi driven by Pokarney.
