Cabbie hurt in assault by passenger

Fort Bragg cab driver attacked

 

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Mendocino County sheriff’s deputies Monday continued looking for a man suspected of beating a Fort Bragg taxi driver.

The driver was attacked while carrying two intoxicated men from a party late Saturday night in Fort Bragg, Lt. Dennis Bushnell said Monday.

The taxi driver, Dan Goekler, 51, of Fort Bragg was kicked in the head repeatedly during the beating and suffered injuries including a broken thumb, Bushnell said.

Deputies called to the assault at 10:40 p.m. Saturday found suspect Norman White, 29, of Ukiah hiding in some bushes.
